SIRENE General Assembly held in Bilbao

The SIRENE project recently held its General Assembly, gathering aimed at advancing social innovation within Smart Healthy Age-Friendly Environments (SHAFE). Hosted by TECNALIA Research & Innovation in the the Parque Científico y Tecnológico de Bizkaia, the assembly brought together all SIRENE partners to discuss progress, exchange insights, and chart the course for future endeavors.

Day 1: National Event – April 23, 2024

The event kicked off with a dynamic agenda designed to showcase Basque Country’s commitment to becoming a Smart Healthy Age-Friendly Region. Distinguished speakers, including Andere Goirigolzarri from Grupo SSI, Jose Luis Zugaza from Achucarro, and Rakel San Sebastián from ADINBERRI, shared insights into Basque social innovation initiatives. Participants engaged in thought-provoking discussions and explored ways to promote entrepreneurial and social innovation skills to foster inclusive development.

The presentation of the Social Innovation (SI) Framework by TECNALIA set the stage for further deliberations, followed by a productive discussion on amendments and support mechanisms.

Plenary Meeting – April 23-24, 2024

The Plenary Meeting delved deeper into the project’s work packages, with a focus on progress updates and upcoming milestones. Partners shared insights into building the SI Framework, activating the co-creation network, and implementing support measures towards stakeholders. The session also featured a site visit to Fundación Matia, providing participants with firsthand exposure to innovative practices in the field.

Day 2: Plenary Meeting – April 24, 2024

The second day commenced with discussions on project management and the value proposition for innovation actors. Partners explored the results of the STEEPLE analysis and provided updates on support measures and outreach efforts. The meeting concluded with a comprehensive wrap-up session, underscoring the project’s achievements and outlining next steps.

The SIRENE Consortium General Assembly served as a dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge sharing, reaffirming the project’s commitment to driving social innovation and fostering age-friendly environments.
