I National Journeys for the Promotion of Active and Successful Ageing

The Coimbra City Council is organizing the “I National Journeys for the Promotion of Active and Successful Ageing”, taking place on the 3rd and 4th of October 2023, in the Sala Mondego of the Convento São Francisco, in Coimbra, as way of marking the International Day of Older People, established in 1991 by the United Nations (UN) and which is celebrated annually on October 1st.

With this initiative, the aim is to promote the dissemination of knowledge and encourage and motivate Municipalities and entities in the social sector to create or replicate good practices in the area of ​​active and successful ageing, addressing topics such as ageing in place, cohousing, support programs for informal caregivers, negative social representations associated with old age and ageing, loneliness and social isolation, gerontechnology, compassionate communities, older-friendly workplaces, among others.

Carina Dantas, Action Chair, will be presenting SHAFE, NET4, and SIRENE on the opening day!
