The ValueCare project, an EU-funded initiative, focuses on delivering personalised and integrated care services aimed at enhancing the quality of life for older adults. By employing value-based methods, ValueCare strives to support healthy ageing and promote independent living. Central to its approach is the involvement of end-users in the co-design and trialling of innovative care solutions across various European cities.

About the Speaker:

We are honoured to have Professor Vanja Vasiljev as our keynote speaker for this session. Professor Vasiljev is a distinguished academic at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Rijeka, Croatia, with a PhD in Biomedicine and a postgraduate degree in Public Health from the University of Zagreb. Her research specialisations include public health, microbiology, and ageing populations.

Professor Vasiljev has a rich history of leading and participating in numerous European research projects, including the ValueCare project. In addition to her research, she is deeply involved in teaching public health and medicine and holds several key administrative positions, such as the head of the postgraduate specialist study programme “Health Promotion and Addiction Prevention”. Her extensive research portfolio includes projects on the epidemiology of hypertension, social engagement in combating chronic diseases, and integrated health and social care pathways.
